'Dissonance'... “A tension or clash resulting from the combination of two disharmonious or unsuitable elements.” The very meaning of the word foreshadows what to expect in Kevin Blake Goodwin’s short film addressing rampant substance abuse among musicians. Set to Goodwin’s namesake progressive instrumental soundtrack, the dark and haunting story chronicles a drug addiction journey of a musician told through visual symbolism in a thriller, nightmare setting. The film delves into the pervasive issues of addiction while engaging in the music scene as well as the inner spiritual warfare of addiction. The journey ends with a strong message of hope, help, and redemption for those who seek help and recovery.

Kevin (Blake) Goodwin's original composition, CombatiKa is a fingerstyle acoustic guitar approach to metal. Blake resides in Conway, Arkansas and is the 2015 winner of the Canadian (International) Fingerstyle Guitar Competition and the 2016, 2017, and 2018 Guitar Wars Winner. This video was filmed and produced by FretMonkey Records, an independent record label that was founded by Kevin Blake Goodwin and is operated by 20 fingerstyle guitar players across the globe. The video was filmed in stunning 4K in the Mojave Desert (Death Valley) and includes the integration of licensed military footage (and alike) with granted permission adhering to a purchased licensing agreement.
